What is the Schedule?

Applications:
Applications are considered from February 15th through November 1st.
Grants:
Grants are awarded each year in January.

Who can apply?

While anyone who qualifies with a non-profit 501(c3) can apply, primary consideration will be given to projects and programs in South Carolina's Chester, York, and Lancaster counties (and the surrounding areas). 

We want to encourage new and innovative ideas, programs, projects and needs; especially ones with a broad-based support program in the areas of:
  • Community
  • Health
  • Education
  • Religion

It should be noted that there are also applications that we will not accept:
  • The Foundation does not award grants to Individuals
  • The Foundation does not award grants for Educational Scholarships
  • The Foundation does not award grants to For-Profit Entities
  • The Foundation does not award grants for General Operating Expenses (including salaries)
  • The Foundation does not award grants for General Fund Campaigns

How to Apply?

  1. Provide a summary letter: Using your organization or project's letterhead, write a brief summary of your organization and its needs.
    • Send your summary letter by mail to our mailing address below.
    • If we have further questions, we may contact you for more detailed information or to set up an interview.
  2. Wait for your application: When your request is received, we will mail you the official application forms.
  3. Application submission: Complete and submit the application by November 1st. The sooner we receive your application, the more time we will have to adequately consider it for our grant process.
    1. It is important that all information on your application be filled out legibly.
    2. The application must signed by the person who will be responsible for expenditure of any grant money awarded.
    3. Include all appropriate supporting documents:
      1. A cover letter including a demonstration of need, the purpose of the organization, and the objectives and background of project(s).
      2. A specific plan and timetable for the project.
      3. An overall budget for the organization, as well as costs for the specific need or project.
      4. A copy of Applicant's official notice of tax-exempt status under internal revenue code 501(c3) letter.
      5. A copy of Applicant's most recent Audit or Compilation, signed by an independent accountant.
    4. Submit the application and its supporting documents by mail via USPS (United States Postal Service) on or before November 1st. *Courier and hand delivery will not be accepted.​
